April 21, 2008
Thanks to 63 cm of new snow and cold temperatures skiing was exceptional last week. Much improved stability allowed us to ski  Red FernRridge, Express, Wolverine and Bufferzone.

March 30, 2008
A series of small spring squalls blew through this week keeping temps low for this time of year and steadily dumping small amounts of snow. Skiing was still excellent with the cloud and cool temps preserving dry powder!  Total new snowfall for the week was 47 cm and the total snowpack depth is at 270 cm.  Average minimum temp for the week was -13 degrees Celsius, average max temp was -4.

March 17, 2008
Thanks to 42 cm of new snow last week skiing conditions at Powder Creek remained excellent. What wasn't so good is we had to deal  with two very reactive surface hoar layers (Feb 24 and Mar 8), that limited our choice of terrain. Hopefully these layers will gain strength soon. Total snow pack at the lodge is 268 cm.

March 2, 2008,
Thanks to 35 cm of new snow over the last few days skiing has been very good at Powder. Total snowpack is now 240 cm.

Finally we saw the sun towards the end of the week after another 85 cm of new snow over the past 7 days. Total snowpack is 265 cm.

February 10, 2008
Partially clear skies and moderate temps allowed for big tours at the beginning of the week.  The latter half of  the week Powder was hit by a series of storms that dropped an amazing 103 cm of  dry snow - trail breaking and skiing were epic!  Average max temp for the week was -10 degrees Celsius, average min temp was - 12.  The total snowpack is now  257 cm and coverage is excellent.

Feb. 4, 2008

Jan. 6, 2008
Wow, what a way to start the new year at Powder Creek. Thanks to 130 cm of new snow that fell during the last week, we had to bundle up to keep all that cold snow out of our faces. For some skiers these were the first face-shots of their lives!
Total snowpack at the lodge is 220 cm,way more up high...

Jan. 1,  2008
Thanks to 73 cm of new snow, cold temperatures and no wind at all last week, we enjoyed some mighty fine skiing. Total snowpack at the lodge is 197 cm.

A series of small storms over the last couple of weeks have steadily added to the snowpack, although with good stabilizing settling occurring not much net gain was made.  The total snowpack at the start of the week was 97 cm (38"), then a nice dump of 27 cm (10 1/2") of light powder at the start of the week added to that. After the storm passed through, temperatures dipped to a nippy - 22 Celsius overnight for a few days.  The accompanying clear skies gave beautiful sunsets and great views of the growing moon, and skiing was excellent on the silky new powder on top of a good base. Total snowpack by the end of the week had settled out to 112 cm (44"). Next snow update will be sometime around Dec. 28th.  We're looking forward to a great Christmas trip into the lodge with friends, and wishing everyone all the best of the season!

November 29, 2005
The snowpack at Powder Creek is looking great so far and the early season skiing has been SUPER! A big storm blew in for the Remembrance Day long weekend and dumped over 70 cm (2 ft) of light, dry powder on top of a dense 50 cm base. The snowpack after the storm was 110 cm (3 1/2 ft), which settled out to 90 cm (3 ft) by Nov 18th.  With this great early season snowpack, coverage is excellent and much of our terrain is already skiable. Another series of snowy storms has been blowing through the region starting last weekend, dumping lots of new snow in the mountains.  More is forecast to be on the way over the next week.  We head into the lodge next week to check on things, so stay tuned for our next snow update sometime around Dec. 10th. A series of winter storms over the last 4 weeks have created one of the best early-season snowpacks we have yet seen in Powder Creek. Early warm storms laid down a firm, stable base for the upcoming season. Recent cooler storms brought 30 cm of fresh powder on top of that, and last week we had some of the best early-season skiing we have experienced yet. The total snowpack is now at 79 cm and growing quickly. The Farmers' Almanac says it's supposed to be a big snow year, and it seems to be shaping up that way so far!
