ACKNOWLEDGEMENT AND AGREEMENT FOR
SELF-GUIDED PARTIES AND PARTICIPANTS
In addition to completing a Release of Liability and Waiver of Claims, (a "Waiver") each participant in a
self-guided backcountry trip with Tamarack (a "Participant" or "Participants") must sign this document.
WE STRONGLY RECOMMEND THAT PARTICIPANTS IN SELF-GUIDED TRIPS HIRE AND USE THE SERVICES OF PROFESSIONAL GUIDES
AVAILABLE THROUGH TAMARACK.
IN CONSIDERATION OF BEING PERMITTED THE USE OF POWDER CREEK LODGE, EACH PARTICIPANT REPRESENTS AND AGREES AS
FOLLOWS:
1. The Participant has declined to hire or use the guiding services offered by Tamarack;
2. The Participant is award of the risks, dangers and hazards of Alpine Activities, as more fully described in the
Waiver;
3. The Participants are fully responsible for their own safety while renting Powder Creek Lodge;
4. The Participants are experienced in backcountry travel in mountainous terrain and have the capability to find
their own route and to evaluate risks, dangers and hazards as more fully described in the Waiver;
5. The Participants will take with them on their trip appropriate safety, rescue and first aid equipment, including
avalanche transceivers;
6. The Participants are experienced in avalanche evaluation and rescue techniques and are capable of safely
carrying out backcountry rescue;
7. The Participants have sufficient training in first aid to be able to competently provide initial response first
aid to an injured Participant;
8. The Participants will promptly reimburse Tamarack for all damage to the Lodge resulting from their stay;
9. Any custodian or other staff supplied by Tamarack are NOT PROFESSIONAL GUIDES and their duties to NOT extend to
giving guiding advice. This also applies to the owners/shareholders of the company who may also work as staff. Any information given by the custodian/staff concerning guiding decision-making
is only their personal opinion and not endorsed by Tamarack.
10. Tamarack is not responsible for providing field radios. If Tamarack does supply field radios, then
Tamarack is not responsible for any failure of such radios for any reason whatsoever;
11. The Participant acknowledges that radio communication may not be possible from many of the areas surrounding
Powder Creek Lodge.
